Alpha Toby's Moonshine
Sire: Alpha Toby's Wicwam
Dam: Alpha Fancy Pants
Moonshine’s breeder’s Story: …..
“…. I did breed Alpha Toby's Moonshine out of the mare Alpha Fancy Pants ....who was Champion mare at the Festival Show in Pietermaritzburg.....and Alpha Toby's Wigwam a five time Champion, and Champion under saddle at the Horse of the Year Show.
I had 12 foals from this mating, including National Champion Alpha Toby's Oklahoma, whose son Alpha Toby's Vertigo was twice National Champion! Su Fairman showed another brother Alpha Toby's Arapaho, also to Championship ribbons.
I had decided to keep Moonshine for myself, but leased him to George Kontos to start with. Later he persuaded me to sell him the horse and he subsequently produced 8 National Champions, including Kondos Moonbeat our 2014 National Champion in hand and under saddle!
Moonshine received a production Gold Medal at our Banquet and Awards Evening.
Some more interesting facts, Fancy Pants (Moonshine’s Dam) was out of a thoroughbred mare Duettina who reached Adult B Grade show jumping. Her sire was Alpha Tomahawk who was used in endurance, bred from Chipperfields Spot and an Anglo mare Militia Majorca, who descended from the famous Orpen horses and herself placed third at Fauresmith two years in a row… a super little horse.
Wigwam (Moonshine’s Sire) was the son of Alpha Nantucket, junior winner at Fauresmith and the stallion Alpha Toby's Warpath who won two 80 km races. He again was the grandson of the imported Toby's Apache from the USA.
In those days I had about 15 foals a year....Moonshine was the pick.
Love, Claire

Middlepoint Moonshine's Reflection
Sire: Alpha Toby's Moonshine
Dam: Middlepoint Dandy's Sunrise
Reflection was born on 29 December 2012. From day one he was an eye catcher, always drew our attention towards him, a real show-off. We decided to keep him to see how he would develop. At this stage as a two year old he already shows great potential to fill his father's footsteps.
